Not your kind of people

Here I am back from my vacation in the sun and sea. Before I show you the pictures from my vacation, I want to share this outfit which was inspired by the outmost talented Shirley Manson.

Shirley Manson has been a big idol and not to mention girl crush since my school days.  Her lyrics are so poetic and real and her voice is one of a kind, you can just fall into it and lose yourself. She comes off as  such a strong woman which makes her a really good role model to have because she pulls off being a complete bad-ass and weirdo while still keeping her strong feminine composure and encouraging everyone to embrace their "otherness" no matter how different you are from the rest of the world, you're still amazing.

So needless to say I'm very excited that Garbage decided to get back into the studio and make a new album after so many years.  The album is called "Not your kind of people" which is a great title and very much about not being what society wants and loving it. Here is a short film about the track in which Shirley is wearing this gorgeous striped dress.

I don't have a striped dress but I do have this skirt I thrifted quite a while ago and actually never wore until a few days ago while channeling Shirley Manson and her creative poise.

skirt: Thrifted, top: h&m, cardigan: c&a, Tote: Monki, Jewelry: Nakit Sa, cutey, h&m

My boyfriend once said "Freak is the new mainstream" and believing that quote makes life more unique and exciting.  Never feel bad for being who you are, embrace it instead.

Over and out,
A_Riot

Wow superschick siehst du aus! Der Rock ist toll, ich finde die Länge schwierig, aber dir steht es ausgezeichnet! Und der passende Schmuck ist auch so schön <3

Awesome outfit. I used to love Shirley Manson, too! Not that she's not still awesome now. She was an inspiration growing up for me, though, because of her hair. I know it became desirable to have red hair after a while, but in my earlier days it just made me feel like such a weirdo

That's an incredible outfit and I love the quote. It's so true though. You have to be yourself no matter what anyone else says.
