D.I.Y Sweater!

Hey there!

I'm glad I finally have some time to sit down and write about one of the things that I made the past few days.  I've been so busy that I couldn't find the time for a post.  You guys all know how it is sometimes, especially during the holidays!

So! Let's get down to business.  I recently turned two old shrugs into new sweaters!

When I bought them about two years ago at Mango, They looked something like this:

I hardly ever wore them and they where just hangin around my closet taking up space.  Just as I was about to add them to my never ending donation pile.  I realized that they where equally long on the top and on the bottom because of the cowl like fold all around, so i folded them in half and cut a hole right in the middle.  And Voila! I have two awesome sweaters now! :)

Oh the other one is purple! :)
I added some pointy shoulders to this one.

shrugs/sweaters: mango, pants: H&M, sneakers: Forever 21, shirt: H&M

Over and out,
A_Riot

Look how clever you are! I love the shrugs, but I'm a shrug lover anyway. But if you're not going to get wear out of them as shrugs you've definitely found a very clever way of still wearing them!

First off: cute christmas tree! I love the little bows! Both of your sweaters are awesome, while I'm more of a cardigan girl I can see why you'd make those shrugs into sweaters. The purple one is super cool with the pointy shoulders and the black one is just perfect, you can wear it with anything! Both of the sweaters look great with this outfit too, what a great plaid shirt! And as I mentioned on chictopia: your hair in a ponytail is just adorable. :-D

Whoa!! This is something I would never had thought of. I've had many awful shrugs in the past, I wish I would have known about this years ago. Gosh, you are so creative! Also, it looks stunning on you! Looks like it will be a great addition to your winter wardrobe.

That is a really shnazzy idea, I'm completely clueless when it comes to anything like that. I can't even cut up a t-shirt to make it look stylish. You are so pretty and I love your Christmas tree.
