Stor> Store Opening

Hey Everyone,

I was recently invited to attend a new plus size store opening party in Vienna! How cool is that? You know how I always talk about there not being enough plus size stores, or fashion variety in vienna for full figured women? Well there is a +1 now on the very short list of stores, which is very cool.

I arrived to a little shop in viennas trendy part of town, filled with people of all shapes and sizes, super sweet snacks, sparkling wine, live accoustic guitar duo and fashion that went up to size EU52/US22/UK24. I thought I was in the best place ever! The whole store was very inviting and stylish and I couldn't wait to get my hands on the clothes. STOR>  carries brands like WeimannCarmakomayppig and more!

I rummaged a little through the crowd, met up with some friends and met a few new friends, one of them being the store owner Gabriele Wally. Gabriele was very happy to talk to me about the store. She said the reason she opened her own store in vienna was because there just wheren't any around, or atleast none with good serious fashion for full figured women, so she opened up her own. It was finally time for vienna to get on the body acceptance plus size fashion bandwagon! How great is that? Finally some progress! :) It's just too bad that the sizes stop at 52/22/24 but it is hard for small shops to get everything in every size, however Gabriele did say it might change later on, the store is still very new and she can only offer so much. So let's see how it goes!

I even met Austrian plus size model Corinna Pumm at the party.  She was also very sweet and happy to find out that there are blogs like mine in Austria, saying it is very hard for plus size models to find work in vienna. I can only imagine, but I am very glad there are women like her who are working towards creating positive and diverse body images in the Austrian media.

All in all it was a great time and I will definitely be stopping by STOR> again sometime soon! If you are in Vienna, you should definitely check it out as well!
